Final gig of the tour

Well, I am sad to say the tour to Italy is now over. We had such a fantastic time playing the gigs, hanging out with some good old friends from Norway (not to mention Erlend and Eirik and crew), and meeting some really lovely new friends in the process.

Italy is certainly our dream location to play because of the food, the architecture, the history, the friendly people, and not least due to the fact that the Italians really seem to like a good melody when they hear one :-).

The Rome gig went well, and we were really lucky with the weather. There were storms forecast that night, but luckily they stayed away until the next night, by which time we were concentrating more on what primi piatti to choose from in Trastevere.

It was quite windy on stage, as you can see by the picture above.

We miss Italy already, but are planning our next trip. Will let you know.

Cheers, Paul x

Roma!

Soon getting ready for the last gig (sob) of the tour.
With wonderful experiences in Turin, Ferrara and Tarvisio we're really psyched and are looking forward to tonight!
Being away from our families can be rough at times but having the opportunity to perform for such wonderful crowds certainly makes up for it!

Bella Italia!!!

Torino concert

Hey the concert last night in Torino was a gas! Beautiful weather, great reception from the crowd, and our modest tally of 35 CDs sold out in a crazy 10 minutes. Ingrid Ophelia was getting cramp in her hands from signing autographs. What a lovely, friendly bunch of people in Torino!

Of course, the Kings worked the crowd into a frenzy, and Erlend invited them to meet in the local square after the concert. About 50 people turned up, and Erlend, Eirik and myself gave an impromptu concert/jam. Highlight of that was a great version of Big Star's "Thirteen" by the boys, the obligatory silly version of "I will survive", and a weird version of "so lonely" by The Police.

As it happened, the real police weren't too thrilled in the end and we were asked to stop around 3am.

What a fab night!

Cheers,

Paul x

Torino

We're just getting ready for the first gig of the tour of Italy in Torino.
The town is beautiful with the alps in the distance.
The Royal Palace in Venaria Reale sets a great atmosphere for the outdoor gig. We did however seem to have brought at touch of Bergen rain with us!
Hope it'll clear up before kick-off..
